The Anthropology, Geography, and Sociology majors offer students strong disciplinary training in a comparative global context. The Interdisciplinary and Area Studies major follows the Global Studies curriculum and draws from courses in other departments in SIPA to develop additional expertise in specific social science themes and world areas.
School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) Foreign Language Requirement: SIPA majors must demonstrate foreign language proficiency beyond the high school level. This requirement can be satisfied by completing a second level (or higher) college course in a foreign language (e.g., ASL II, French II, Spanish II) with a grade of C or higher, or by earning a passing score on an approved credit-by-exam (e.g., AP, CLEP).
