School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) Foreign Language Requirement: SIPA majors must demonstrate foreign language proficiency beyond the high school level. This requirement can be satisfied by completing a second level (or higher) college course in a foreign language (e.g., ASL II, French II, Spanish II) with a grade of C or higher, or by earning a passing score on an approved credit-by-exam (e.g., AP, CLEP). There are no prerequisites for this program. The strongly recommended courses below deepen discipline knowledge and enhance skills for upper division courses. We encourage students to take these courses prior to completing the AA.
